this is one of alice cooper's top 3 albums. by this i do mean starting his solo career with WELCOME TO MY NIGHTMARE.buy this along WELCOME TO MY NIGHTMARE & FROM THE INSIDE.
"Killed by Love" is another good track, displaying vocals that are seldom used by Alice, but still sound great. Slash sounds great on the guitar and Alice's roaring vocals are as good as ever.
Alice has returned to the psychopathic killer genre. This is a great album.
One of the best tracks is "Vengeance is mine". And that's that best kind.
While I don't think much of the cover picture, it's the music that counts. The first and last tracks are a pleasure to the ears, the first one is especially creepy and it's just awesome.
Anyone who disapproves of this album and calls them self an Alice Cooper fan, or a rock/metal fan in general, is just an idiot without brains.THIS ALBUM ROCKS.
Alice's latest is sick and twisted in the best possible way. With instantly classic lyrics such as "You look like you'd fit in the trunk of my car", Alice gives us his version of Hannibal Lecter. Vengeance is Mine, Wake the Dead, Catch me if you Can, and I am the Spider have all been added to my iPod favorites.
At times the guitars are too uninspred and simple. This albums is an odd one, no really awesome tracks, but none are close to being bad either. I think this album would have been a little better if the guitarwork had a little more life to it. The songs are still really good though, mostly brought up by Alice's vocals and the lyrics. The packaging of this album is awesome, with each page giving a visual representation of what the song is about.
Honestly, I did. I mean, can Alice put together a good concept effort or what. As fate would have it, I got the CD on Alice's 61st birthday. As huge of an Alice Cooper fan I've been since the release of 'Killer', I chose not to purchase this latest release until just recently, off of Ebay. Review no. Every bit as good as 'The Eyes Of.' and 'Dirty Diamonds'. Two reasons - all the album's tracks are between decent to very good songs + they do their job of telling the listener(s) about the story. Why.
Cuts here I was most impressed with were the *ss-kicking "Vengeance Is Mine", "Wake The Dead", the rocking "Killed By Love", "Food For Thought" and "Salvation". So, I knew exactly what to expect. 83. Each of the eleven tunes on 'Along Came A Spider' were very well written, thought out, played as well as produced. But I confess to hearing 'Along Came A Spider' before. To me, in some ways 'Along' is sort of like a distant (unofficial) follow-up to Uncle Alice's solo debut - 1975's landmark lp 'Welcome To My Nightmare'. Interesting how as the story unfolds, you feel you know the tale's serial killer, named Spider a little bit better. Essential.
